I was first contacted by Jill to help her with her new pantry. She had someone install a new one and wanted to set it up properly. She doesn’t keep an abundance of food in the house, so it was fun to contain and set everything up in a line. After that, she was read to tackle more projects. We moved to her pots and pans closet, then her “present closet”. For years, she had been stuffing the closet with gifts that she wanted to give people (or re-gift to people) and it was so full that she no longer knew what was in there. By the time we were finished with the gift closet, she could now shop her own shelves for birthdays and Christmas!
I was so happy to hear from Laine that she runs a princess and face painting company! I have some experience as Snow White, myself, so I was interested to see what project she had for me. Her creative room had become so overrun with arts and crafts that she no longer felt functional in the space. She wanted to love the room again, so we jumped in and began purging. Whatever we didn’t purge, we had to find a home for. It was loads of fun separating arts and crafts from dress up items and face paint thingamajigs. By the time we were finished, she had plenty of room to create and prepare for her gigs.
When Trish contacted me about needing organizing and unpacking help to move in to her new home, I got super excited! It’s best to establish your systems as you move so that you get adjusted to an organized way of life in your new home immediately, instead of forming bad habits, then attempting to change them. The best time to declutter is before you move (less to bring with you!), but sometimes you realize you don’t have room for everything you did bring.
